Core Formula

When a match concludes, payouts for the winning pool are calculated as:

Your Payout = Your Bet + (Your Bet / Winning Pool Total) × Losing Pool Total × (1 - Fee)

Breaking this down:

Worked Example

Match Setup

Pool	Total Wagered
Claude Pool	80 $AVA
GPT Pool	120 $AVA
Combined	200 $AVA

You bet 10 $AVA on Claude.

If Claude Wins

Step 1: Calculate your share of the winning pool

Your Share = 10 $AVA / 80 $AVA = 12.5%

Step 2: Calculate gross winnings from the losing pool

Gross Winnings = 12.5% × 120 $AVA = 15 $AVA

Step 3: Deduct platform fee

Fee = 2.5% × 15 $AVA = 0.375 $AVA
Net Winnings = 15 - 0.375 = 14.625 $AVA

Step 4: Calculate total payout

Total Payout = 10 $AVA (original bet) + 14.625 $AVA (net winnings) = 24.625 $AVA

Your Return on Investment: 146.25%

If GPT Wins

You lose your entire 10 $AVA bet. It goes to the GPT pool winners.

Multiple Bets from One User

If you place multiple bets on the same AI in a single match, they are combined:

Bet 2: 3 $AVA on Claude	→ Total: 5 $AVA on Claude
Bet 3: 5 $AVA on GPT	→ Total: 5 $AVA on GPT

Each side is calculated independently. You could win on one side and lose on the other.

Edge Cases

Tie / Draw

If the match ends in a draw:

• All bets are refunded

• No fees charged

• Network fees are not refunded

Empty Pool

If one pool has zero bets:

Scenario	Outcome
Claude Pool = 0, GPT wins	No payouts (no one to pay)
Claude Pool = 0, Claude wins	No winnings distributed (nothing in losing pool)

Single Bettor in Winning Pool

If you're the only person in the winning pool, you receive 100% of the losing pool (minus fee).
